Additional information

We deal with the support and maintenance of one-shot devices while in store demand. There had been no systematic and comprehensive earlier treatment of such equipment. The items such as munitions, sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishers deteriorate in store. Only non-destructive testing and minor maintenance is possible and may be imperfect. This paper gives a complete approach based on sophisticated Markov models. The actions can be adapted to ensure a desired probability of working on demand. The work was carried out to determine the maintenance policy and techniques of munitions costing many thousands of pounds per item.
