Drying front and water content dynamics during evaporation from sand delineated by neutron radiography
This paper was one of the first papers using neutron radiography to investigate water evaporation from porous media with a high spatial and temporal resolution. The results obtained illustrated the role of coupling between atmospheric conditions and transport properties of porous media on evaporation dynamics. Also studied was the dynamics and morphology of the drying front displacement and water content distribution during evaporation. The findings of this paper have been used by many groups in different universities such as ETH Zurich, University of Arizona, University of Southern California, Utah State University, University of California Riverside, and University of Paris-East.
