Additional information

This paper presents one of the first practical studies of the use of waste cooking oils for biodiesel, going beyond simply studying the biodiesel production process to also consider in detail the characteristics of the biodiesel as a fuel. The study showed the key importance of carbon residue and the distillation curve as the two most significant characteristics which limit the volume of biodiesel from waste cooking oil which can be blended with diesel to make fuel which conforms to retail standards for unmodified diesel engines.
