This output includes the Introduction and 16 articles. Some of these articles overlap with outputs submitted to previous RAEs. The following chapters are products of the REF2014 period: Chapter 4: 'Real Rules' (2008); Chapter 7: 'Reasons as Non-Causal, Context-Placing Explanations' (2009); Chapter 8: 'Pain, Polio, and Pride: Some Reflections on “Becausal” Explanations' (2012); Chapter 11: 'Conceptual Analysis, Theory Construction, and Philosophical Elucidation in the Philosophy of Mind' (2012); Chapter 12: 'Ryle’s Regress and the Philosophy of Cognitive Science' (2011); Chapter 16: 'Conceptual Amorphousness, Reasons, and Causes' (2012).

This input includes three chapters (4, 7, and 12) which were previously published within this REF cycle and therefore might have counted as three separate inputs, as well as three chapters (8, 11, and 16) plus an Introduction, also produced during this cycle, which is new material and might have (together) counted as a fourth input. As it thus meets the criterion of “The collection and analysis of a considerable body of material”, we would like to request that this item be double-weighted.
