Significance of output:

We have applied a short range time-of-flight ranging method to a tracking technique for the first time. The COTS nature of our solution makes tracking of fauna and personnel, for example, affordable to a wide range of groups concerned with conservation issues and surveillance. Our technique is unique in using range only measurements for the detection of position; the filters used cope with non-linear, manoeuvring targets. “Real-world” testing shows our system to be robust.
