Additional information

In 2008 CVH co-organised an international conference on letters and literature in the long eighteenth century. A number of excellent papers were given by leading academics in this developing field of enquiry and the US-based journal ‘Eighteenth-Century Life’ subsequently accepted a proposal for a special issue containing selected conference papers. CVH authored an essay (“Why I Write Them, I Can Give No Account”: Aphra Behn and “Love-Letters to a Gentleman” (1696), pp. 65-82), co-authored the introductory essay (pp.1-8) and completed other editorial tasks including considering revised abstracts, editing drafts, corresponding with contributors, and organising the peer review of articles.
