Double-weighted statement

The book presents a critical intervention in Yeats studies which has not been undertaken before. The monograph contains exhaustive analysis of Yeats's occult papers, as well as a complex engagement with the poet's occultism through the theoretical lens of postcolonial studies. The monograph scrutinized several examples of rare material from Yeats’s membership of the Golden Dawn, including documentary evidence and manuscripts of seances in the National Library of Ireland. Finally, the book addresses Yeats’s reception in twentieth-century Ireland by close reference to nationalist newspapers such as The Leader (available in the NLI but not online).
