Additional information

The “Hackney Model” approach to children’s services has received extensive coverage in the Munro Reports with several authorities using it in part or whole. This in-depth theory-driven evaluation combines extensive observational research, with quantitative surveys and instruments to develop a rich picture of the model compared to more conventional ways of delivering children’s services. The findings are being used in several authorities in England, and the Casey Foundation in the USA and the Scottish Government are exploring the implications of the research. The model has also informed the new “Frontline” initiative for delivering social work education.
