Additional information

In Eurocode 4 no design equations are given for different sheeting thicknesses and shear stud positions in steel-concrete composite beams with metal decking. The aim of this research is to develop design equations for shear connector resistance taking into account different sheeting thicknesses and shear stud positions. Advanced analysis procedures and material models are used to develop FE model and perform parametric study. The industrial support for the study was provided by The Metal Cladding and Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA). The paper presents highly useful information for structural design codes and construction industry in the UK and abroad.
