The Body and the Arts is a volume of interdisciplinary critical essays. Dr Maude co-edited the volume, co-authored the Introduction, and contributed one of the essays, 'Modernist Bodies: Coming to Our Senses' . The volume grew out of a public lecture series sponsored by the Wellcome Trust and held at the University of Durham in 2005-2006, which Dr Maude co-organized. Her expertise in this field was instrumental in bringing together a strong group of contributors including Antony Gormley, Marina Warner, Steven Connor, George Boys-Stones, and Patricia Waugh.
