OUVRAGE [uvra:ž]
Françoise Dupré was artist, project manager, fundraiser and editor. This output brings together two projects OUVRAGE [uvra:ž] (2009-2011) and exotic mk (2009). Located in migration, post-conflict and health contexts, the projects were developed and realised in the context of Dupré’s research project here and there (2003-2013). Informed by feminist theories and critical thinking about participation, engagement with and response to situations and contexts OUVRAGE [uvra:ž] and exotic mk were realised using a collaborative-participatory approach, programmed workshops, and a public exhibition of the project’s outcome in the form of a mixed media installation.
Outcomes included: Residency at French Cultural Centre Mostar, with a solo exhibition Françoise Dupré, Mille-fleurs (22-29 July 2009), OUVRAGE [uvra:ž] project with Novi Pogled (French Cultural Centre, (27 July-14 August 2009) and project exhibition (Cejvan Cehaja Hamam, 17-21 August 2009). OUVRAGE [uvra:ž] touring exhibition: The Pavillon Petar Kocic, Banja Luka, B&H, (15-22/10/2009); The Lokot gallery, Tuzla, (19-28/11/2009); Casa Matei gallery, University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, (29/03-1/04/ 2010); BCU, Birmingham, (19-30 /04/2010); Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award, 5 year celebration, North Wall Art Centre, Oxford, Artweeks-Oxfordshire Visual Arts Festival (8-16 /05/2010); autre mers (other seas) The Women’s Library, London (25/05-01/10/2011). mk exotic project (January-July 2009) and public exhibition (Milton Keynes Shopping Centre, 10 July-9 August 2009).
