Additional information

The paper reports an experimental campaign on a small scale model of an urban area located in central London. It represents a comprehensive experimental study on real geometry (as opposed to idealised geometries) and one of the first in such a complex environment. The study highlights the influence of small geometrical details (e.g. the presence of tall buildings nearby) on the flow field within the canopy. It is one of the most comprehensive experimental studies in complex urban geometry and is having a significant impact on the urban fluid mechanics community, with a large, and growing, number of citations.
