Additional information

This paper demonstrated PET-CT to be more sensitive than Bone Marrow Biopsy in detecting Marrow Involvement in Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. This paper provided a strong argument against routine bone marrow biopsy in patients with this the most common type of Non Hodgkin Lymphoma, with lower cost and avoidance of pain and morbidity associated with biopsy. The findings were supported by an accompanying editorial and published in a leading journal in haematology. Barrington led the PET aspects of the study.
