Muscle magnetic resonance imaging involvement in muscular dystrophies with rigidity of the spine

This is a collaborative study between imaging and neurological researchers to define the use of MRI in congenital muscular disease. Rutherford led the imaging in the study and was joint senior author with Muntonti (Neurologist). Imaging is now a standard diagnostic technique in congenital muscle disease, and also used in clinical trials of gene therapy for muscular dystrophy. This work was published in a leading neurology journal.
