English abstract

This article looks at one unchartered territory about royal education in early modern Europe, namely the economic and fiscal training of monarchs. Set in the European context of the c17-c18 Fiscal-Military State, the article looks especially at Louis XV’s fiscal education. Based on manuscript primary material never used so far, the chapter discusses specific problems of the fiscal education of the king and looks at pedagogical tools developed for that purpose.
