Computer-based auditory training (CBAT): benefits for children with language- and reading-related learning difficulties
Significance of output:
This is the first international article to challenge the evidence for Computer-Based Auditory Training (CBAT) in children with language, reading, and related learning disabilities, and evaluate the extent it to which it can benefit children with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). This article, cited in the British Society of Audiology’s APD Practice Guidance document and international publications, makes a valuable impact on the field of APD as CBAT is widely recommended for children for APD, despite originally being developed for children with language, speech and reading difficulties. Important issues relating to evidenced-based practice and treatment efficacy are raised.
