Current Interruption Using Electromagnetically Convolved Electric Arcs in Gases
The paper reports research that can contribute to the complex problem of removing Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6, a powerful greenhouse gas) from high voltage interrupters. The research was funded by the Carbon Trust, National Grid+ and the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI) in the USA. This reported work has attracted a large Chinese manufacturing company (Pinggao Ltd*) to fund research and to set up collaborative research laboratories. +[http://www.nationalgrid.com/NR/rdonlyres/AD51047E-906F-427D-BF7C-6DED341F526D/48317/NationalGridIFIAnnualReport201011full.pdf, page 4]
