Additional information

<22>Published in the leading journal for logic and its applications in computing, this paper is the culmination of an innovative line of research to develop a formal framework with desirable properties that combines legal case-based reasoning with structured argumentation schemes. The paper accounts for prior proposals by other authors and provides a rigorous foundation for further development. It builds on previous publications in prominent conferences at the interface between Artificial Intelligence and Law (full paper in 2011 International Conference on AI and Law and in JURIX 2012), and Argumentation (International Conference on Computational Models of Argument 2012).
