Additional information

The results from this research initiated a collaboration with LG Display to develop a new fast-switching liquid crystal display mode (‘Flexoelectric display’ 2009-2012, £470k, Ref: RG53931). This research was subsequently presented at the Society for Information Display (SID Symposium Digest, 39.2 (2009)) where it was highlighted as a notable paper. The research from the collaboration led to the development of prototype 17” display devices that were presented at the Society for Information Display as an invited paper (Ultrafast High Optical Contrast Flexoelectric Displays for Video Frame Rates SID Digest 2012, 40.1, Boston, USA (June 3-8, 2012)).
