Additional information

Fixed pattern noise is severely limiting the quality of images from wide dynamic range cameras. Unfortunately, this is hindering the deployment of these cameras in applications, including automotive systems that require a wide dynamic range. This paper describes a relatively simple fixed procedure that corrects fixed pattern noise in a wide dynamic range camera. The expertise represented by this paper is currently being used to enable the deployment of wide dynamic range cameras in cars, initially within the autonomous cars being developed by the Mobile Robotics Group at Oxford.
