Additional information
The ability to provide detailed launch measurements is highly relevant in the competitive sports ball and implement sector, but has recently found further application in sports officiating. This paper reports the first active feedback controlled sports ball tracker capable of responding to ball velocities of up to 10 m/s in an arbitrary direction. This new approach has potential to influence the design and development of future technologies in this area, and can be verified by Luke Dodd, Software Development Engineer, HawkEye (luke.dodd@hawkeyeinnovations.co.uk)
