Additional information

<17> Originality: This paper discusses a new way of designing and implementing a natural language-based query language and its corresponding parser. It shows that it is possible to construct a single parser, no matter the syntax and semantics of a specific natural language.

Significance: The paper proposes a solution to the scalability problem of implementing a search engine on a multi-lingual Web, no matter the underlying human language.

Rigour: The parametric theory in linguistics (for some, the DNA of syntax and semantics of human languages) is being explored in conjunction with automaton theory in computing.
