Additional information

<28>This paper presents what is currently the best algorithm for overlapping clustering on weighted large scale networks. New web-based version presented at ISMB 2013. The algorithm is now widely used (4061 downloads of the software so far, as counted from the official Cytoscape website). Scientists have been using it outside biology, for example for detecting communities in social networks. We have applied it to the largest ever human protein interaction network (paper published in Cell, output 2). The algorithm was developed entirely in Paccanaro’s lab and subsequently validated by Haiyuan Yu at Cornell University. Paccanaro is senior corresponding author.
