Standard virtual biological parts: a repository of modular modeling components for synthetic biology
<28> The paper describes work in the area of developing computational representations of genetic parts for model-centric design for engineering biological systems. This work developed an approach for producing dynamic CellML and SBML models that allow a genetic circuit to be simulated computationally in order to test their characteristics. It also developed a repository of such models for use by the synthetic biology community to aid in the automation of biological system design. The resource described led to an invitation to join a £6M project (EPSRC, 2013-2018) to develop a UK infrastructure for synthetic biology.
