<19> This paper forms the foundation for the User Managed Access (UMA) Internet Draft submitted to IETF by the Kantara Initiative (see the UMA Wikipedia page). Additional impact: (1) two JISC-funded UMA projects: SMART (software) and SMART-2 (deployment); (2) Open Source software Leeloo, which has since gained over 3000 downloads; (3) start-up Cloud Identity Ltd (2011), for services and enhancements of the software that implements the protocols introduced in this paper (over £100K in projects to date). The UMA software won Identity Deployment of the Year Award in 2011 (previous winners include Google, US DoD, Vodafone, Oracle).
