Additional information

<23>This work on perceptually-sensitive video analysis and processing contributed to the definition of a coherent framework for enhancing image-encoder performance. Specifically, it enables a pre-processing step that incorporates high-level perceptual factors independent of the specific coder. This work is part of collaboration with the Perceptual Engineering research group at BT via an EPSRC industrial CASE project (Dr. David Hands: was at BT, now is with Microsoft Research: david.hands@microsoft.com). The research was core technology used in securing an EPSRC project on video production with Google and the BBC as collaborators (EP/K007491/1; 2013-2015).
