<28> Originality: This paper was the first to report the successful use of computer algorithms to analyse MRI scans and predict outcome of psychotic episodes. Significance: The paper had a press release organized by the Wellcome Trust on the 8th November 2011 and the research was covered by BBC Two’s Newsnight on the 7th November 2011. Rigor: The results were based on a cohort of 100 patients, taking MRI brain scans and 91 healthy individuals. The patients were followed up around 6 years. Statistical analysis showing the significance of the results is detailed in the paper.
