Additional information

<20> Immersion in digital games is recognised as an important concept to quantify both for research and design. This paper was the first to propose a quantitative measure of immersion (the IEQ). The design of the IEQ was based on existing literature and previous qualitative studies. Whilst traditionally, many questionnaire studies have relied solely on factor analysis for validation, the IEQ was further supported by experimental studies that provide tests of construct validity. The IEQ is now widely used in studies of game experience and is the most highly cited paper published in this journal since 2008 (source http://scholar.google.co.uk/citations?hl=en&vq=eng_humancomputerinteraction&view_op=list_hcore&venue=NgC4uuLAccwJ.2013)
