<07> Distributed systems often contain components that are written in different languages. The significance of this paper is that extends program analysis across language boundaries for the first time based on dataflow analysis and slicing. The paper includes an evaluation based on a large industrial case study that demonstrates that the technique is both feasible and effective. It has provided the underpinning of industrial applications of program analysis across language boundaries in a number of financial institutions in London.
