<20>This work contributes to the theoretical understanding of sensemaking, focusing on team interactions, and identifies novel requirements for systems to support legal sensemaking. Linked consultancy with Lexis Nexis UK delivered use cases and personas through which they identified new product opportunities for the legal market; one of these products generated £5M of sales in 2010 (product has recently been updated and re-launched). Data gathering and analysis follow a rigorous Grounded Theory approach, working with teams of lawyers at a large London law firm. This work resulted in invitations to give a keynote talk (ISIC2012) and attend a Dagstuhl seminar.
