Additional information

Preview control problems occur in many areas of engineering. These problems can be reconfigured as two-degree-of-freedom feedback controller synthesis problems requiring the solution of two algebraic Riccati equations. In some cases these equations can be of very high order and are therefore insoluble using conventional means. The aim of this paper is to provide an efficient solution algorithm that exploits the fine structure associated with all H-inf preview problems. This work has been applied in several road vehicle related situations - mostly in racing. This work formed part of Andy Hazell's PhD thesis. Funded by EPSRC grant GR/S61256/01.
