Additional information

This paper reports research which significantly extended the range of fluids which could be used to produce microbubbles through demonstrating that fluids with viscosities over 480 mPas could be used to produce microbubbles. This significantly improved on previous work where the upper limit was 100 mPas (e.g Garstecki, P. et al Lab on A Chip, 2006, 6(3), 437-446). The research was a key part of the case for support for the EPSRC project “Photo-catalytic microbubble reactor for conversion of CO2 to Fuels” (EP/J02161X/1; £100k).
