Additional information

This is the first paper to experimentally validate a novel fatigue and damage accumulation model of gear life, with Newcastle leading the experimental work and Cardiff the computational. The work at Newcastle was funded by the British Gear Association and Rolls-Royce (contact: Mike Mountney, mike.mountney@rolls-royce.com), and the results have informed further collaborative work by the two groups.
