Additional information

This paper showed for the first time that robust neural networks and iterative learning control can be integrated to obtain reliable and robust batch-to-batch control strategies for batch processes. The novel modelling and batch-to-batch control methods established in this paper are being further developed in a major collaborative project, the €5M EC FP7 Collaborative project iREMO (Intelligent Reactive Polymer Composite Moulding, NMP2-SL-2009-228662; Newcastle award £214k).
