Additional information

This paper proposed that the role of non-Newtonian models and pulsatile flow in the well-known VISC07 stent study could be more important than assumed by the research community. Results showed that the best stent under average flow conditions may not perform best at all points of the cardiac cycle, with short-term more harmful levels of flow rates or shear stresses being demonstrated.
