Additional information
This paper demonstrates a way of using on-road data directly for drive-cycle analysis. All current methods grossly over-estimate the efficiency of new vehicles. Our method gives a realistic assessment of what a ‘normal’ driver could achieve. It will take many years for this to become an ‘industry standard’ method.
