Additional information

This paper presents a novel algorithm applicable to the optimal control of any dynamical system under arbitrary excitations. This is based on the Ponyagin principle to determine reversals in the control strategy, which determines the chromosome length with which evolution optimal control can be obtained. This research has been the foundation of a large number of PhD research projects in our group. Furthermore, our optimal control work resulted in developing a KTP project with Trelleborg which has now led into developing a fully functioning engine vibration cancellation device to be commercialised by Trelleborg (Contact: Bill Mortel, Trelleborg).
