Additional information

This is the first paper in a series which develops a system for using a microwave fluidised bed containing activated charcoal for the constant removal of toxic substances from gas streams. The technological concept behind this was deemed to be novel and sufficiently promising to attract funding from the CBRN Science and Technology programme.

This is the first report of such a system and this first paper in the series investigates the physical and dielectric properties of the carbon adsorbent.
