Additional information
Making even basic in situ measurements of catalysts operating under conditions of microwave heating is notoriously difficult. This paper describes a novel reactor that permits infrared studies of catalytic systems to be made whilst being irradiated with microwaves. Additionally, the paper demonstrates how infrared emission spectroscopy opens up new possibilities for temperature measurement within a microwave field which has been a significant problem for scientists working in the field for several decades. The work is a result of the visiting professorship of Prof Bond at the University of Caen.
