<26> Originality: First paper to provide a continuous quantization of how much an object is surrounded by a deformable object. Also proposes a method to parametrise the open space around an object by virtually charging the object and computing the electric field and potential.
Significance: This method can be used to synthesize animation of wrapping objects by a cloth, and also guide robots to grasp objects.
Rigour: Published in ACM Transactions on Graphics a leading journal in the field. Paper invited for presentation at SIGGRAPH 2014, one of the most prestigious and competitive conferences in the world.
