<10> Originality: Provides a hybrid semantics for the stochastic process algebra PEPA by partitioning actions into continuous and discrete.

Significance: This approach permits exploration of hybrid behaviour that lies between the fully stochastic behaviour of PEPA and the fully continuous and deterministic behaviour of fluid PEPA. For a model, it allows for deterministic approximation when population numbers are high and stochastic simulation when population numbers are low giving more efficient simulation with less low quality approximation. Published in a leading conference on quantitative approaches to modelling.

Rigour: Two page appendix of proofs submitted with conference paper.
