Additional information

<22> Originality: Koehn has been organising the leading European language machine translation evaluation campaign since 2005. The research output is the most recent in a series of publications reporting on novel evaluation metrics as well as the setup and outcome of an annual evaluation event.

Significance: The evaluation campaign attracts large participation (about 40 research groups) and its workshop well attended (a few hundred attendees).

Rigour: Each annual event levels the playing field for research in machine translation by making extensive resources (tools and data) available and provides a forum for showcasing improvements and testing novel evaluation methods.
