Significance of output:
This paper is the second in a series of three papers investigating load transfer in adhesively bonded composite joints. The work originated from an EPSRC project (Grant number GM/M55084) with the first paper published in 2004. The work has led to further funding from EPSRC (Grant number EP/G042403, £447k) and the Stanley Gray fellowship (£12k) from the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. A forth paper is in preparation.
