Additional information

<23> This paper is about facial motion capture. Digitizing complex facial expressions has long been one of the key goals in computer graphics with important applications in special effects for the computer games and film industries. The current state-of-the-art involves complex, expensive hardware as well as intrusive processes (special makeup etc). Instead, this paper uses a simple setup (camera + 3 projectors) to provide accurate, real-time completely passive capture of deforming faces that greatly reduces scanning costs. In collaboration with Activision/Blizzard, we developed parts of this technology for use in their animation studios (Javier.Pahlen@activision.com)
