Additional information
As part of a long term programme investigating the behaviour of deep beams, this paper developed an advanced mechanism analysis for the shear capacity prediction of continuous deep beams. It differs from many previous studies in that it examines realistic statically indeterminate deep beams rather than simply-supported ones. The paper assessed EC2 and ACI318 shear design provision for deep beams. The largest database for continuous deep beams was compiled and presented in the paper. It rationally identified the trend of multiple parameters on the capacity of continuous deep beams.
