Deportation und Zwangsarbeit. Polnische und sowjetische Kinder im nationalsozialitischen Deutschland und im besetzten Osteuropa 1939-1945
This monograph provides the first study of Polish and Soviet child forced labourers in National Socialist Germany and German occupied Eastern Europe by drawing on a wide range of archival documents and testimonies. It focuses both on the young victims’ experiences during deportation and employment, and on the perpetrators’ ideologies and policies. Archival research has been carried out in Germany (Bad Arolsen, Berlin, Freiburg, Koblenz, Ludwigsburg, Munich), Belarus (Minsk), Poland (Warsaw, Lodz), Ukraine (Kiew), USA (New York, Washington), and Israel (Jerusalem). The research has been supported by the British Academy (Larger Research Grant, 2007-2009) and the AHRC (Fellowship, 2012).
