Significance of output:

There is urgent need for micro-scale power supplies such as micro heat engines with high power output and power density. The current lack of a thermodynamic model means there is no effective design guidance available. This has partially led to many unsatisfactory performance reported from many micro engine research worldwide. The model reported in this paper was can be applied for all micro heat engine development as initial guide. This can eliminate the unnecessary microfabrication steps which are often very costly and time consuming.
