Performance and stability analysis of active elastic metamaterials with a tunable double negative response
This work was the first output from an EPSRC research grant (GBP94k EP/J003816/1). One grant reviewer noted that “Metamaterials are a very hot topic globally and for the very good reason that the way forward in many areas of environmental, energy harvesting, medical and social impact devices is through artificial materials”. One reviewer of the paper stated “Relatively little research has been published in this area, which makes this a very worthwhile contribution. The application of active control to elastic metamaterials is a very interesting approach” and another reviewer noted that the field is “fast developing”.
