Significance of output:

Significant reductions in drag are potentially possible in hydrodynamic applications where an air layer can be retained at a superhydrophobic surface. This paper was one of the outputs from an EPSRC funded grant EP/G058318/1 (value £440k). The paper was selected for the 'Focus on Fluids' highlight section of the Journal of Fluid Mechanics.
