For the special issue, the research process involved: the organisation of a 2 day interdisciplinary seminar, at which contributors presented and discussed invited papers, circulated in advance; the revision of those papers (significant in many cases) in the light of discussion at the seminar, as summarised by the special issue editors, and following their specific guidance.
